‘COVID-deaths report will be more detailed’

The government says attention is being directed to making the report on COVID-19 related deaths more comprehensive.

Co-Cabinet Speaking at the weekly Cabinet media briefing, the Minister said officials have informed that several issues arise when compiling daily evaluation reports pertaining to COVID-deaths.

The Minister said they notified the Director General of Health Services of the matter as well, adding that certain concerns have arisen in issuing a detailed report.

He noted that the President also called for the detailed report to be issued promptly.

Minister Pathirana added the threat of the Delta variant circulating in society is large and therefore urged the public to ensure they follow health regulations.
