Parliamentarian Patali Champika Ranawaka says although the government claims that COVID-19 will spread due to protests, the virus can also spread when the public is standing in queues to fulfil their basic needs.
Speaking in Parliament MP Ranawaka said the gas shortage in the country has affected Members of Parliament as well.
He claimed the public is severely burdened and the country is moving towards a famine, adding the 2022 Budget presented by the government hasn’t provided solutions to a single fundamental issue.
