The Supreme Court has issued an injunction order suspending the decision by the Cabinet of Ministers to grant the official residence down Paget Road to former President Maithripala Sirisena on a permanent basis.
The order was issued by a three-member bench comprising of Justices P. Padman Surasena, Yasantha Kodagoda and Mahinda Samayawardana.
The order will come into effect after four weeks.
NewsRadio court correspondent said the suspension order will be in effect until the case is being heard in courts.
The injunction order was issued after considering a petition filed by the Executive Director of the Centre for Policy Alternatives Dr. Paikiasothy Saravanamuttu.
