A special meeting of the Committee on Public Enterprises was held in Parliament yesterday with a number of issues including future proceedings of the Committee and institutions that will be summoned discussed.
COPE Chairman Prof. Charitha Herath said the Committee will convene three days weekly from next week.
The Committee also drew attention to the progress of the implementation of recommendations of the second COPE report of the 9th Parliament.
Accordingly, Members of Parliament pointed out the need to hold a Parliamentary debate on the COPE report pertaining to the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology.
COPE members also commented on major issues currently being discussed and a number of related institutions.
Among them were issues related to the Ceylon Electricity Board, the Petroleum Corporation and Litro Gas.
The COPE Chairman said these matters will be discussed at future COPE meetings.
