The government has reached a decision to remove the control price imposed on milk powder, LP gas, cement and wheat flour.
The decision was reached at a meeting held with President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and the Cabinet of Ministers last evening.
However, the President has informed the State Minister of Consumer Affairs to ensure that the prices of these commodities do not rise exorbitantly.
Earlier this month the government also lifted the Maximum Retail Price imposed on rice.
