COLOMBO (NewsRadio); A decision has been taken to reduce container transport charges by 2.5 percent following Monday’s fuel price revision.
The All Island United Container Transport Owners’ Association said the transport charges will reduce with effect from today.
The Association noted that during the past few months, the prices of auto diesel has fluctuated and were reduced at some instances.
The All Island United Container Transport Owners’ Association said it is of the view that benefit of the fuel price reduction should be given to the consumers and therefore after notifying those in the import and export sectors, they will reduce container transportation charges by 2.5 percent.
On Monday, the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CEYPETCO) and Lanka IOC reduced the price of a litre of auto diesel by Rs.15 to Rs.405.
