Meanwhile, President Ranil Wickremesinghe on Friday appointed the three members to the Constitutional Council, who are not Members of Parliament.

The appointments were made on the nominations submitted by the Speaker with the agreement of the Speaker, the Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition.

Accordingly, Dr. Prathap Ramanujam, Dr. Dilkushi Anula Wijesundere and Dr. Dinesha Samararatne have been appointed to serve as Constitutional Council members.
