A complaint has been lodged with the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption to investigate the issuance of a diplomatic passport by the Department of Immigration and Emigration for State Minister Diana Gamage.
The complaint was lodged by social activist Oshala Herath today (20).
Herath claims that State Minister Gamage hold British citizenship and therefore issuing a diplomatic passport is against the Immigration and Emigration Act.
Oshala Herath stated that such a move is an abuse of power and called for the Bribery Commission to conduct an investigation promptly.
Several petitions are also currently being heard that challenges the citizenship of State Minister Diana Gamage.
