A committee chaired by Secretary to the Prime Minister Anura Dissanayake to reach decisions pertaining to maintaining state services in a stringent manner.
The committee was appointed to balance the number of public employees as a large number of state employees are due to retire this year in line with the government’s decision that individuals who complete 60 years or have this far completed 60 years must retire from the state service.
The committee comprises the Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration, the Director General of Integrated Services, the Director of the Department of Management Services and the Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The committee will look into vacant positions in the state service and suitable replacements while the committee will make related recommendations.
The recommendations made by the committee will be presented to the Cabinet of Ministers by the Prime Minister.
