The Cabinet of Ministers has granted approval to appoint a committee to further identify amendments to the National Medicines Regulatory Authority Act.

The committee is expected to gather the views of the public for this purpose.

The Cabinet during a meeting held on the 12th of March 2019 decided to amend National Medicines Regulatory Authority Act No.5 of 2015 to cater to contemporary requirements.

The Cabinet Paper stated it has been recognized that the Act should be further strengthened.
