Former President Maithripala Sirisena says closing the country and moving forward amidst the COVID-19 pandemic is a difficult task.
Speaking to media the former President said however resuming all services as per usual is also concerning.
Former President Sirisena said he believes there is nothing wrong in resuming state services, while implementing health and safety policies.
He noted developed nations also continued operations amidst the pandemic.
He added Sri Lanka cannot close the country and move forward, while stating however that the prevailing risk must also be understood.
