The chief suspect in the shooting of a 14 year old boy in Gajanayakagama, Weeraketiya on the 19th of September has been arrested.
The suspect was evading authorities in a shrubbery area with another suspect involved in the incident.
The Weeraketiya Police is conducting investigations to locate the firearm used in the crime.
Police said one suspect was found to be in possession of a locally manufactured firearm during his arrest.
The duo will be produced before the Walasmulla Magistrate’s Court.
The shooting was reported during a dispute among a group of relatives.
Further investigations are being carried out by the Weeraketiya Police.
