KANDY (NewsRadio); Chief Prelate of the Asgiriya Chapter Most Venerable Warakagoda Sri Gnanarathana Thera has welcomed the easing of hardships of the people.
Issuing a statement, Venerable Warakagoda Sri Gnanarathana Thera noted that in comparison to the last few years, there are signs that this year will bring some kind of relief to the people, where diseases and economic hardships have been reduced to a great extent.
The Chief Prelate said during the past two years, Sri Lankans were not able to happily celebrate the New Year due to the economic crisis caused by a number of factors, including the COVID-19 pandemic.
Warakagoda Sri Gnanarathana Thera noted that the situation has improved significantly and the people are heading into the New Year with renewed hopes.
Chief Prelate of the Asgiriya Chapter Most Venerable Warakagoda Sri Gnanarathana Thera added that it is very important to set aside all differences and work together for the good of the people and the country in the New Year.
