State Minister Channa Jayasumana says certain groups are attempting to gain undue political advantages over the incident related to a section of the data system of the National Medicines Regulatory Authority being erased.
Speaking at a media briefing yesterday the State Minister said all steps to prevent the data from being obtained by a third party, has been taken.
The State Minister claimed the data that has reportedly been erased, is information obtained through applications within a short time span, adding that data entered manually is still on the system.
He added a new data system was introduced recently, adding that the data that is reported to be missing, was information entered after the new system was introduced.
The State Minister stated the public will not be affected by the incident.
