COLOMBO (NewsRadio); Canteen owners have announced that the prices of a packet of Rice and Kottu and a cup of plain tea will be increased following the increase in prices of gas, sugar, rice and a number of other items.
Chairman of the All-Ceylon Restaurant Owners’ Association Harshana Rukshan said the prices of several goods have increased significantly and therefore they have decided to revise prices of Rice, Kottu and tea.
He noted that the price of a packet of rice and curry, fried rice and Kottu will be increased by at least Rs. 20. Chairman Harshana Rukshan added that the price of a cup of plain tea will be increased by Rs. 5 while the price of cup of milk tea will be increased by Rs. 10 with immediate effect.
Litro Gas company earlier today announced that the prices of LP gas cylinders will be increased with effect from tomorrow while yesterday, the special commodity levy on sugar was increased to Rs. 50 from 25 cents.
