The Cabinet of Ministers has granted approval to import 300,000 liters of liquid medical oxygen on a weekly basis needed to treat COVID-19 patients.

Although the Cabinet had granted approval previously to import 120,000 liters of oxygen per month to ensure continuous supply of liquid medical oxygen to COVID-19 patients in critical condition, due to a rapid spike in infections, the proposal has been amended.

Accordingly, the Cabinet has approved the proposal tabled by the Minister of Health to import 300,000 liters of medical oxygen weekly and store them in the country to meet the current demand.
