Members of the government are of the view that the 2022 Budget has provided answers to issues faced by the country and also related to the economy.
Ministers Keheliya Rambukwella, SM Chandrasena, State Minister Dayasiri Jayasekera and Parliamentarian Thissa Kuttiarchchi expressed their views on the 2022 Budget at the Parliamentary complex yesterday.
Health Minister Rambukwella said the 2022 Budget has focused on providing relief to sectors that were affected by the COVID-19 crisis.
He assured amendments to the 2022 Budget can be made if needed.
Minister SM Chandrasena claimed that the budget focuses on taxing segments of the economy that would not affect the public.
He added that feedback from the opposition confirmed the success of next year’s budget.
Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva said the 2022 Budget proposals if implemented will save the country from the debt burden and ensure economic growth.
State Minister Dayasiri Jayasekara commended the Finance Minister on presenting a successful budget.
MP Thissa Kuttiarchchi also said the government has given the people, tools to survive through the budget.
