The Airport and Aviation Services Sri Lanka (Pvt) Limited says the PCR laboratory at the Bandaranaike International Airport, that is expected to issue PCR test results within three hours, has not been closed.
Vice Chairman Rajiv Sooriyaarachchi said a technical error is currently being addressed by officials.
Sooriyaarachchi said all passengers are subject to PCR tests.
He said arrivals in Sri Lanka who have completed 14 day since being fully vaccinated, are subject to PCR tests and allowed to travel to their destination.
He said tests are conducted within a two hour period upon arrival.
Sooriyaarachchi added the PCR laboratory requires a meticulous process, claiming as its newly established issues are bound to arise.
However, refuting claims that the lab has closed, Sooriyaarachchi said passengers won’t be inconvenienced.
