COLOMBO (NewsRadio); Deputy Secretary General of Parliament Tikiri K Jayathilaka has been appointed as a High Court Judge by President Ranil Wickremesinghe.
The letter of appointment was granted by the President to Tikiri K Jayathilaka today.
Tikiri Jayathilake who served as the Assistant Secretary General of Parliament was appointed as the Chief of Staff and Deputy Secretary General of Parliament on the 23rd of May.
Tikiri Jayathilaka, who started his professional career by joining the Attorney General’s Department in 2002, has handled cases in many magistrate courts and high courts as a State Counsel.
Tikiri Jayathilaka, who joined the judiciary in 2006, served as a Magistrate and Additional District Judge and served in various courts around the country.
In 2015, Tikiri Jayathilaka, joined the Parliament of Sri Lanka as the Assistant Secretary General (Legislative Services.),
Meanwhile, President Ranil Wickremesinghe has also appointed District Judges TJ Prabhakaran and PK Parana Gamage, and Senior State counsel KDYM Nayani Nirmala Kasthuriratne as High Court Judges.
Letters of appointments were handed over to them today at the Presidential Secretariat.
