Around 125kg of heroin seized from a trawler in southern seas

A multi-day fishing trawler has been intercepted with around 125kg of heroin in southern seas during a special intelligence operation.

COLOMBO (NewsRadio); A multi-day fishing trawler has been intercepted with around 125kg of heroin in southern seas during a special intelligence operation.

The Sri Lanka Navy said six individuals were also arrested in the operation carried out by the State Intelligence Service and Sri Lanka Navy.

The Navy added the trawler, the drug haul and the six suspects will be brought to the Colombo Harbour later today.
