Secretary of Defence Rt. General Kamal Gunaratne says the Army Medical Corps engaged in COVID-19 vaccinations have received medical education.
The Defence Secretary said allegations levelled that an unknown group is administering vaccinations were baseless.
General Gunaratne speaking at a media briefing yesterday said the Regiment of Artillery was never deployed for vaccinations, adding that the public should not fear being vaccinated.
The Defence Secretary added the Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps intervened in the vaccination programme following a spate of strike actions launched by health sector workers.
He said daily vaccinations which was between 2,000-3,000 was increased to 500,000.
