KANDY (NewsRadio); Members of Arab Council have pledged to extend their support to Sri Lanka to overcome the economic crisis.
Ambassadors of Palestine, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates provided the assurances after calling on the Chief Prelate of the Asgiri Chapter Most Venerable Warakagoda Gnanarathana Thera in Kandy.
Palestinian Ambassador to Sri Lanka Zuhair Dar Zaid, Egyptian Ambassador Maged Mohieldin Nafei Mosleh and Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates Khaled Nasser Sulaiman Al-Ameri called on the Chief Prelate of the Asgiri Chapter in Kandy yesterday.
The Ambassadors assured the Chief Prelate that the member nations of to the Arab Council will support Sri Lanka without any hidden agendas to overcome the current economic crisis.
Palestinian Ambassador to Sri Lanka Zuhair Dar Zaid stated that the Arab Council will work with 22 other Muslim nations and take steps to provide the necessary support to Sri Lanka.
The Ambassador also noted that Arab Council states are prepared to provide employment opportunities to Sri Lankans and the country can benefit by sending qualified people to take up such jobs.
Meanwhile, Egyptian Ambassador Maged Mohieldin Nafei Mosleh said President Ranil Wickremesinghe is striving to help Sri Lanka address the current economic crisis through new economic reforms and the Arab Council is ready to support it without any conditions.
