April arrivals dominated by Indian, Russian and British tourists

Nationals from India, Russia and the United Kingdom have dominated tourist arrivals in the month of April.

COLOMBO (NewsRadio); Nationals from India, Russia and the United Kingdom have dominated tourist arrivals in the month of April.

More than 32,000 tourists have arrived in Sri Lanka thus far in April.

According to data issued by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority, 32,495 tourists arrived in the first nine days of April.

The SLTDA said in April, the highest number of tourists arrived from India.

A total of 5,889 Indian nationals have arrived in the country thus far in April.

Meanwhile, the SLTDA added 4,684 tourists from Russia, 3,438 from the United Kingdom, 2,886 from the Germany and 2,097 individuals from the Australia also have arrived in Sri Lanka this month.

Furthermore, more than 1,000 individual have arrived in Sri Lanka from the United States and China in the past nine days.

The SLTDA said a record 125,495 tourists in total arrived in March.

Accordingly, 368,174 tourists have arrived in the country so far this year.
