Applications called for youth reps to Sectoral Oversight Committees

Applications have been called to select youth representatives to Sectoral Oversight Committees to be established in Parliament.

The Sectoral Oversight Committees are to be established pertaining to 17 subject areas with the participation of Parliamentarians representing all political parties.

Applications will be called to select five youth representatives each per Committee to assist with inquiries as per provisions of the amended Standing Orders passed by Parliament on 05.10.2022.

Applicants must have authentic knowledge/professional experience/competence in the respective committee subjects.

Furthermore, applicants must not be less than 18 years and not more than 35 years of age as at the closing date for applications.

Moreover, arrangements have been made to publish newspaper advertisements with all related details in Sinhala, Tamil and English.

Applications prepared in accordance with the specimen mention in the ad must be sent under registered cover along with the copies of certificates of educational/professional and experience, to reach the “Secretary-General of Parliament, Parliament of Sri Lanka, Sri Jayewardenepura Kotte” on or before January 09th 2023.

(4) Sectoral Oversight Committee on National Economic and Physical Plans

(6) Sectoral Oversight Committee on Increasing Export of Goods & Services
(7) Sectoral Oversight Committee on Alleviating the Impact of the Economic Crisis
(8) Sectoral Oversight Committee on Energy & Transport
(9) Sectoral Oversight Committee on Food Security & Agriculture
(10) Sectoral Oversight Committee on Environment, Natural Resources & Sustainable Development
(11) Sectoral Oversight Committee on Education
(12) Sectoral Oversight Committee on Foreign Employment & Labour
(13) Sectoral Oversight Committee on Just and Law – Abiding Society
(14) Sectoral Oversight Committee on Health
(15) Sectoral Oversight Committee on Children, Women and Gender
(16) Sectoral Oversight Committee on Media, Youth, Heritage and New Citizen
(17) Sectoral Oversight Committee on an Open & Accountable Government
