President Ranil Wickremesinghe has held another round of discussions today with the visiting International Monetary Fund delegation headed by Peter Breuer to solve Sri Lanka’s economic crisis.
The meeting between the IMF delegation and the officials of the Ministry of Finance was held at the President’s Office while President Wickremesinghe joined via Zoom.
The President’s Media Division said both parties exchange views positively.
Meanwhile, an agreement has been reached to provide information regarding the electricity tariff revision, the Excise Act and several other details to the IMF delegation, on Monday.
IMF financial and legal advisors were also part of the discussions while another round of talks will be held on Wednesday.
The PMD said IMF Senior Mission Chief to Sri Lanka Peter Breuer, Deputy Mission Chief Osario Kosaiko, IMF Resident Representative Tubagus Feridhanusetyawanand, Governor of the Central Bank Nandalal Weerasinghe, Secretary to the President Saman Ekanayake, and officials of the Treasury were part of the discussions.
