COLOMBO (NewsRadio); Foreign nationals visiting the national parks in Sri Lanka, including the Yala National Park will be able to purchase entry tickets by paying in US dollars in future.
The Ministry of Wildlife and Forest Resources Conservation said it has made necessary arrangements and the programme will begin this month.
Minister of Agriculture, Wildlife and Forest Resources Conservation Mahinda Amaraweera has instructed the officials of the Ministry of Wildlife and Forest Resources Conservation to take steps with the aim of generating dollars for the country’s economy.
Accordingly, Secretary of the Ministry Chandra Herath has notified the Subject Minister that they have taken steps to introduce the programme in January from the Yala National Park.
Minister Amaraweera has also instructed officials to immediately improve the facilities provided to visitors as a large number of local and foreign tourists are visiting the Yala National Park in recent days.
