(NewsRadio); The Sri Pada pilgrimage season for the year 2022-2023 has concluded.

Accordingly, the relics which were placed in the Adams Peak courtyard with the commencement the pilgrimage season, have been taken to the Galpoththawela Raja Maha Viharaya, Pelmadulla in a procession along the Ratnapura Palabatgala Road from the courtyard.

The annual Sri Pada Pilgrimage season commenced in December after the casket of relics and the statue of God Sumana Saman were taken from the Galpottawala Sri Pada Rajamaha Vihara to the Sri Pada Maluwa.

Accordingly, the pilgrimage season that ran from December concluded on Vesak Poya day.
