The Ministry of Health says all stores in the country cannot be allowed to reopen at present.
Media Spokesman of the Ministry Specialist Dr. Hemantha Herath addressing media said remaining patient and adhering to health guidelines can help reap benefits.
Dr. Herath stated the coronavirus wave reported in October last year did not witness cases exceeding 1,000 adding that the recent wave led to large numbers which has been controlled to 1,700 as of now.
Therefore, Dr. Herath stated the Health Ministry does not want to repeatedly open and close the country adding that lessons must be learnt from past mistakes in decision making.
Meanwhile Dr. Hemantha Herath stated he cannot comment on who was responsible for liquor stores in the country reopening, as legal proceedings are underway into the matter.
