State Minister Dayasiri Jayasekara says the first step towards building the future of the country is for all political parties to work together based on a national plan.
Speaking in Parliament yesterday during the adjournment debate on two Committee on Public Enterprises reports, State Minister Jayasekara claimed if the public conducts a thorough review into frauds revealed by COPE reports, state officials will be punished before any politicians.
The State Minister said the public is unaware of the destruction caused by state officials in certain technical committees and procurement committees.
He however noted there are still honest state officials in the country who are working for the betterment of the nation.
State Minister Dayasiri Jayasekara noted that the country first needs a proper plan pertaining to health, education and energy.
Responding to State Minister Jayasekara’s statement, Parliamentarian Ajith Mannapperuma said during the tenure of the good governance government, when all political parties were moving towards the goal of developing the country together, it was sabotaged by the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna.
MP Mannapperuma said the previous parliament was united in working towards a better future for Sri Lanka when the United Nation Party and the Sri Lanka Freedom Party formed the government.
The Parliamentarian said the public is now facing the consequences of the greed for power of members of the SLPP.
