Minister of Foreign Affairs Ali Sabry has met with the Heads of Mission designates at the Ministry premises yesterday (16).

The Minister said he provided an overview of the current challenges Sri Lanka is facing in dealing with foreign policy.

Minister Sabry said the Heads of Mission and him discussed areas of priority for each mission and region.

He noted that several new opportunities were also discussed.

Minister Sabry said in line with Sri Lanka’s commitment to establish a professional foreign service, 13 out of 16 appointments approved by President Ranil Wickremesinghe were from the Sri Lanka Foreign Service (SLFS).

He claimed that this is the largest single contingent of SLFS officers appointed as Heads of Mission.
