Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna Parliamentarian Akila Ellawala says stern legal action must be taken against MP Rishad Bathiudeen, in relation to the death of a 16-year-old girl, while employed at his residence.
Speaking during a media briefing MP Ellawala said the opposition’s silence regarding the incident is regretful.
He claimed a No Confidence Motion must be tabled in Parliament against MP Bathiudeen, over the manner in which children and domestic workers have been treated by his wife and other relatives.
MP Ellawala also requested the Opposition Leader to stage a protest against MP Bathiudeen’s actions, and take steps to remove him from Parliament.
