The Wada Karana Jana Balaya organisation says airport officials are abusing the decision reached by certain airlines to conduct rapid antigen tests on passengers in addition to PCR tests, prior to the commencement of flights.
Speaking to NewsRadio Chairman of the Association Ravi Kumudesh said officials are attempting to allow tests to be conducted by the private sector.
He noted special attention has been directed towards the matter.
Kumudesh said the airport has a high-quality laboratory that can conduct around 5,000 PCR tests.
He added the conduct of rapid antigen tests can also be done at the same laboratory.
Ravi Kumudesh said a request has been made to conduct rapid antigen tests adding however that permission has not been granted in this regard.
