Additional buses, trains to leave for Colombo from outstation areas from today

The Sri Lanka Transport Board and Sri Lanka Railways have confirmed that from today additional buses and train journeys will be added to the timetable to transport individuals from outstation areas back to Colombo.

COLOMBO (NewsRadio); The Sri Lanka Transport Board and Sri Lanka Railways have confirmed that from today additional buses and train journeys will be added to the timetable to transport individuals from outstation areas back to Colombo.

The SLTB Deputy General Manager (Operations), Panduka Swarnahansa said additional SLTB buses will be deployed till the 18th of April.

He said the special transportation plan was initiated before the New Year with a large number of buses leaving Colombo for the convenience of those working in Colombo to visit their hometowns.

Panduka Swarnahansa said additional will continue to leave Colombo today and tomorrow as well.

He said however focus from tomorrow will be on individuals hoping to return to Colombo.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka Railways said special train journeys added to the timetable will continue until the 17th of April.

Additional Railway General Manager (Operations) VS Polwattage said trains are in operation for the convenience of the people returning to Colombo after the New Year holidays.
