Social media activist Sepal Amarasinghe, who was arrested yesterday, has been remanded.
He was remanded till the 10th of January after being produced before the Colombo Magistrate’s Court today (6).
Colombo Additional Magistrate Tharanga Mahawatte issued the order after taking into consideration facts produced by the Criminal Investigation Department.
Amarasinghe was arrested last evening on charges of making statements defaming the Temple of the Tooth Relic.
