The activist arrested this morning on charges of forcibly entering the Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation and damaging public property on the 9th of July last year, has been released on bail.
The order was issued by the Colombo Chief Magistrate Prasanna Alwis today (5).
After considering facts presented by the Police and attorneys of the defendant before Court, the Chief Magistrate ordered the release of the suspect on two surety bail of Rs.200,000 each.
The case in this regard will be taken up once again on the 9th of January.
The individual was arrested at the arrival terminal at the BIA this morning.
The 32 year old is a resident of Hapugala, Galle.
The Cinnamon Gardens Police obtained a Court order on the 15th of August 2022 to arrest the individual upon his return from overseas.
