Head of International Affairs Division at the National Science Foundation JP Shantha Siri says 950 Sri Lankan expatriates have registered with the Foundation’s Global Digital Platform.
Speaking during a media briefing at the Department of Government Information today, Shantha Siri said the number was expected to increase further in future.
He said individuals representing emerging technology fields such as Blockchain, IoT (Internet of Things), Artificial Intelligence and Robotics in addition to individuals representing Biotechnology, Nanotechnology, Electronics and Electrical Engineering fields have registered with the Platform.
Shantha Siri said these individuals possess in-depth knowledge and expertise in their respective fields.
He said the country cannot move forward in the science and technology field without being part of the Global Value Chain.
He said the aim of the Global Digital Platform is to obtain the assistance of Sri Lankan expatriates, as the country has limited resources.
