767 COVID-19 cases confirmed from Gampaha yesterday

The Gampaha district has confirmed 767 new COVID-19 cases yesterday.

2,953 new coronavirus cases were detected in the country yesterday, raising the number of confirmed infections in Sri Lanka to 332,947.

Among cases detected yesterday, 440 were from Kalutara, 312 from Colombo, 294 from Ampara, 168 from Galle, 165 from Monaragala while 128 were from Matale.

The National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak said 117 cases were also recorded from Kandy, 91 from Ratnapura, 70 from Kurunegala, 60 from Badulla, 56 from Puttalam, 53 from Kilinochchi and 45 from Kegalle.

41 COVID-19 cases from Vavuniya, 36 from Batticaloa, 28 from Trincomalee, 22 from Hambantota, 16 from Polonnaruwa, nine from Nuwara Eliya, six from Mullaitivu, five from Mannar, four from Jaffna, three from Matara and two from Anuradhapura were also recorded yesterday.

15 persons who arrived in the country recently have also tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday.
