Minister of Education Susil Premajayantha says 75% of students are reporting to school physically since the resumption of academic activities.
Speaking in Parliament today, Minister Premajayantha said the highest percentage was reported in the Northern Province with 88% teachers and 81% children reporting to school.
The Minister said school functions are returning to normal, with the provision of fuel and special school services launched.
The Minister also stated that students sitting the Advanced Level Examination this year are well prepared, adding that students want to complete the examination promptly.
However, he acknowledged that students sitting the exam for the second and third attempt are at a disadvantage and require more time to prepare.
The Education Minister said during the next three month period they will assess if the A/Level syllabus should be amended for the examination and will instead focus on completing the syllabi.
