The National People’s Power says although it is straightforward to oust a government, it is difficult to overhaul the 74-year-old political system prevailing in the country.
Speaking to media in Kandy, former Parliamentarian KD Lalkantha said the public must also unite to change the current political system.
Lalkantha said they will hold multiple protest marches across the island to display their displeasure and force a General Election.
He said the form of protests will be designed according to the government’s actions.
The former MP claimed the people have changed many governments and Heads of States a number of times adding however the prevailing political system must also be changed.
