The Ministry of Health says 68.4 percent of the Sri Lankan residents who are above the age of 30 years have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

Sri Lanka commenced the vaccination drive in January and 16.3 percent have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 thus far.

Speaking during a media briefing in Colombo today, Director of the Epidemiology Unit Dr. Samitha Ginige said Sri Lanka has received 13.8 million COVID-19 doses thus far and 10.1 million jabs have been administered.

Dr. Samitha Ginige said almost 100 percent of the Matale population that are above the age of 30 years have received at least one vaccine dose.

98 percent in Colombo and Gampaha, 97 percent in Kandy, 90 percent in Mannar and 85 percent of those above the age of 30 years in Kalutara have also received at least one vaccine dose against COVID-19.
