649 COVID-19 cases were identified in Sri Lanka yesterday.

All new infections were linked to the New Year cluster.

Accordingly, Sri Lanka’s virus caseload increases to 531,070.

347 individuals earlier recovered from COVID-19 and were discharged during the past 24-hours raising recoveries to 492,305.

Meanwhile, The Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health said 25,293 persons are currently receiving treatment for the coronavirus at several facilities.

23 persons succumbed to the coronavirus during the past 24-hours raising the COVID-19 death toll to 13,472.
