640 new COVID-19 cases have been detected from the Colombo district yesterday.
The number of COVID-19 cases confirmed in Sri Lanka rose to 348,270 following the detection of 3,152 patients yesterday.
Among yesterday’s cases, 529 were from Kalutara, 247 from Gampaha, 241 from Matara, 226 from Badulla while 207 infections were from Kurunegala.
The National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak said 159 new COVID-19 cases from Kandy, 119 from Monaragala, 99 from Ampara, 84 each from Matale and Hambantota, 83 from Nuwara Eliya, 81 from Polonnaruwa and 73 from Batticaloa were also detected.
Furthermore, 58 cases from Kilinochchi, 45 from Jaffna, 38 each from Galle and Anuradhapura, 33 from Kegalle, 18 from Puttalam, 16 from Ratnapura, 13 from Trincomalee, six from Mannar, four from Vavuniya and one case from Mullaitivu were identified yesterday.
10 persons who arrived from overseas recently were also among the coronavirus cases detected in the country yesterday.
