The number of individuals arrested on charges of violating quarantine regulations has increased to 74,507.

The number of individuals arrested on charges of violating quarantine regulations has increased to 74,507.

The arrests were made since the 31st of October last year.

Police said 613 individuals were arrested during a 24-hour period ending at 6 this morning.

104 vehicles were meanwhile seized by Police.

Meanwhile 1,168 persons entering the Western Province and 1,804 persons leaving the province were inspected yesterday. 

Police said 294 persons in vehicles that attempted to cross checkpoints with no valid reason were turned back.
