Over 400 coronavirus cases have been recorded from the Colombo District yesterday.
1,711 individuals tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday, increasing Sri Lanka’s coronavirus caseload to 299,892.
The National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak said 481 COVID infections were reported from the Colombo District, while 310 cases were identified from the Gampaha District and 228 from the Kalutara District.
109 coronavirus patients were identified from Batticaloa, 72 from Ampara, 66 from Kandy, 62 from Matara, 54 from Badulla and 51 from Jaffna.
Meanwhile, 43 infections were recorded from Kurunegala, 32 from Kegalle, 30 from Galle, 26 from Monaragala and 21 from Polonnaruwa.
20 cases were reported from Hambantota, 18 from Kilinochchi, 14 from Ratnapura, 12 from Puttalam and 10 from Matale.
Furthermore, nine virus infections were recorded from Trincomalee, eight from Anuradhapura, six from Mullaitivu, three from Mannar, two from Vavuniya and one infection from Nuwara-Eliya.
23 individuals who arrived in the island from overseas recently also tested positive for the virus yesterday.
