Another stock of 400,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine donated through the World Health Organisation’s COVAX facility by the United States has arrived in the island.
The consignment arrived at the Bandaranaike International Airport from the United Arab Emirates via the Maldives this evening.
Another 400,000 Pfizer vaccine doses donated by the US arrived on Thursday.
Accordingly, the US has donated around 900,000 Pfizer vaccine doses to Sri Lanka.
The Ministry of Health said Sri Lanka has thus far received around 4.2 million doses of Pfizer, Moderna and AstraZeneca vaccine through WHO’s COVAX facility.
