Another 36 persons have been arrested during the past 24 hours on charges of violating quarantine regulations.
Accordingly, a total of 81,256 persons have been arrested on the relevant charges since October last year.
Police said 2,975 persons traveling in 1,655 vehicles were inspected at 13 entry and exit points to the Western Province yesterday.
430 persons traveling in 206 vehicles, without the required permits, had been sent back at the checkpoints.
