COLOMBO (NewsRadio); A total of 33 youth who went missing inside the Gerandigala forest area of the Knuckles Mountain Range, have been found.
An operation was launched to locate the group after the Ududumbara Police was informed that a group of individuals that entered the reserve to visit the Gerandigala have not returned.
They reportedly faced difficulties due to mist and bad weather.
Accordingly, Police officers, Wildlife officers and the Army were involved in the rescue operation.
A total of two girls and 31 boys have been rescued. They are residents of Kandy, Homagama, Colombo and Galle.
