A special operation conducted by the Navy in seas north of Kankesanthurai, Jaffna has led to the discovery of more than 216kg Kerala marijuana yesterday.
Three suspects have been arrested over the haul while the vessel has been seized.
19kg of dried turmeric was also found in the suspects possession.
The Navy said the street value of the seized stock of Kerala marijuana is believed to be over Rs.65 million.
It is suspected that the smugglers may have received the narcotics at the International Maritime Boundary Line to be smuggled into the island.
