21 Indian fishermen who entered Sri Lankan waters illegally have been handed over to the Kankesanthurai Police, after they were detained by fishermen in the North, and handed over to the Navy.

The two boats they arrived in were also seized.

The two Indian fishing vessels that entered Sri Lankan waters near Point Pedro around 11 last night have been surrounded by Sri Lankan fishermen, and handed over to the Navy.

The navy had arrived after the Indian fishermen were detained for over an hour.

The two Indian fishing vessels and 21 Indian fishermen were handed over to the Kankesanthurai Police thereafter.
