Samagi Jana Balawegaya Parliamentarian Tissa Attanayake says while a new year dawns, he does not believe that 2023 will be a successful year.

The MP speaking to media following an event Wijerama today (31) said, the public cannot enjoy milk rice while 55% of the population cannot afford three meals.

He charged that the government also lacks plans for 2023.

MP Attanayake noted that while to the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna taxes will not be a burden, to the public taxes will become unbearable.

He also claimed that the SJB preparations are in full swing for the upcoming election.

The MP said there is no legal provision to postpone the conduct of the election, adding that a postponement is mere suicide.

He also claimed that in the event that elections are postponed, another public uprising will take place and vowed that the SJB will go to court in the event of a postponement.

MP Attanayake also stated that 2022 will never be forgotten in the country’s political history, adding that it will be marked as the year when a President who secured 6.9 million votes was ousted.
